ExpiredTo have some fun at SmartCanucks.ca I thought of starting a new contest. Here it is
Submit a photo of the weirdest thing you have at home!
Be creative! the more interesting, weird or funny that “thing” is, the larger your chances of winning. Any photo quality is fine: this is not a photography contest, it’s simply about the weirdest thing you have in your home!
Submissions are open till the end of February. Please email me your photo to
I will then post your photo here
During the first week of March all SmartCanucks’ forum members will vote for their favourite photos. This is how the winner will be decided.
The top 5 contestants will win the following prizes:
1st place: $25 Shoppers Drug Mart or Indigo/Chapters or Cara gift card
2nd place:$20 Shoppers Drug Mart or Cara gift card
3rd place: $15 Cara gift card
4th place: $10 Shoppers Drug Mart or Cara gift card
5th place: $10 Shoppers Drug Mart or Cara gift card
Note:- Shoppers Drug Mart is PharmaPrix in Quebec so Quebecers can join the contest too.
- Cara gift cards could be used at Swiss Chalet, Second Cup, Kelsey’s, Harvey’s and Montana’s
This thread is currently associated with: Indigo Chapters Coles Bookstore, Montana's Restaurant, Pharmaprix, Shoppers Drug Mart

These 1960 Bobblehead are about the most bizarre thing I own.
They moved with me for 40 years or so
Lori aka matrix82
Well the wierdest thing that I have at home, is my cat
Kosmo, he eats corn, can open all the cupboards and is
just plain strange. Here is the pictures of him hanging
out in our modem box...one of his favorite places to sleep
because he can slowly reach out an unnoticed paw and swipe
at unsuspecting visitors.
His name comes from Kosmo Kramer the character off of
seinfeld because he is just that strange...although not
racist or speciest...he appreciates the company of any
human as long as they will rub his ears and don't mind
being bitten
Ashley aka roseofblack25
jelyanne
I had a hard time deciding...i have a noose hanging from my ceiling in my
bedroom, a gas mask hanging from my vanity...but I think this is the cutest
weird thing i have.
...'aborted' fetus in a jar His name is Edgar.
Pwwbear
This is Fred. I have had him for over 40 years. He has been through alot, losing his ears and given a "haircut" by a much younger sibling. But he was given to me by a person I cared a great deal about and I am not ashamed to say that he has a perment home with me.
Anita aka geekigirl
I have 2 cats. I love them dearly but 1 has a habit of destroying rolls of toilet paper. If she can reach the paper it’s done. I’ve had to remove them from the holder because she just goes to town on it. This Robotan toilet paper holder would be amazing. It doesn’t mount anywhere so I could just place it on the counter or shelf. Even for all it’s practical reasons the most impressive thing about this is that it’s so damn cute!!!
Momoffour
This Darth Lamp came with the husband…
One day it (the lamp) might go missing!
Stephanie T.
just wanted to submit a few photos of one of the many strange things I own at home. Although i don't tend to think they are weird most of my friends do.
The following, I don't even know what to call it but it is in bad need of repair. It is on the 'to do' list in the coming months.
I guess we can call it 'Mice in a Box'. If you view the pictures in order, you will see that the mice all move when a dial is turned on the side.
Julie
Stephanie aka townsteph
For years the attached Yoda lamp has been floating around between my brother and I. I even have an RTD2 light switch cover.
Yoda lights up although I didn't attached a picture of him with the lights on.
Margo aka Mtplace
My two oldest foster girls getting ready for their bath. Not that that is weird, but they’re both showing their bums to the world! Now that’s weird!
Hope it’s not too “risqué” for the contest! LOL
Glyn C
At first when you announced the contest subject I thought about what I
had around my home, and despite having many anachronistic antiques that
might be considered interesting, weird, or funny, but nothing
outstanding... Then this mushroom got dropped into my lap, or at least
onto my cutting board. The mutant mushroom, mutaroom or mushtant has two
stems and only one strange looking cap, it is actually kind of cute...
It looked a little like a heart on legs. I hope this is weird enough.
Carrie S
Here's my submission!
It's an ashtray from Cuba! It's a woman smoking a cigar!
Stephanie aka StarDancer
my mom bought this cat clock for our kitchen but i made her take it down because it was really creepy the way it's eyes move. Almost like there watching you! Kinda reminds me of the simpsons!
Tricia R
I thought I would hopefully be a bit creative here and submit my weirdest
thing which as you can tell is my goofy 3-year-old daughter, Alexa Jade. It
should be good for a few laughs!
My information:
Tricia Taylor from Fort St John, British Columbia
Pic: Daughter Alexa Jade, 3
Manik
This is a picture of my brothers over clocked pc.. LOL everything has to be outside so there is no heat production and the microprocessor doesnt burn down
Larsen
Canadian Sinner
My boyfriend and I were staying at a friends place and we had to set up camp on the floor. Little did we know she had a crazy cat. It kept jumpin' on us and doing just about anything that could piss us off. So, I don't know why but we got my phone out and started fooling around with it. We waited till the cat got really close and gave it a little flash. This is what we got from it.
Shandadee
This is my sister, she gets her looks from the "other side" of the family
Jeannette aka Raynygirl
Ok Boo it's totally up to you if this is inappropriate or something to include but this is honestly the wierdest thing I could come up with. I call it a "poop shelf" toilet though I'm sure you don't want it listed as that but as you can see from the photos when you "drop your load"/make a deposit/visit Mr Hanky, etc, etc well these kids aren't dropped at the pool (as Jessica Simpson would say-yes I watch too much reality tv !!) but it actually sits there directly on the porcelian (sp??) for all to see rather then dropping into water. Apparently the trick is to cover the area with toilet paper first to make for easy disposal..not very convenient and wow I just said a whole lot about a toilet huh ?? Anyhow I won't be offended if that's too icky to include I just thought i would share it as my friends like to talk about how messed up it is and I agree !! lol
Heartroad
Well, the wierdest thing that I have at home, It's a clock. It is a gift from my friend. It looks like "a golden toilet". Now the "toilet" is in the kitchen, at the top of my fridge! Why? Because I already have a clock in my bedroom, my wife need a clock in the kitchen when she is cooking.
Nat
I'd say this pirana my dad brought back from a trip to Brazil is one of the weirdest things in my house. (It is real, but thankfully no longer alive).
Amy aka littlefoot
well this has to be about the wierdes tthing i have left in my house.
Mike D.
Although I didn't take the pic (no camera) I swear I have one of these on
my wall (and a steak one too). I can't wait to get a car to try it out!
bcteagirl
Was not sure what to enter.. I have some potentially winning photos of things that *used* to be in my house, but somehow that didn't seem honest... So I am just going with this.... It is a souvenir I brought back from a conference I went to in Sandiego... I give you 'Hello Kitty on Pot'.
The pot reads: "Tea, like friendship, should be offered straight, fresh and warm.".
Thus combining my love of cooking, tea and Hello kitty.
I was powerless to resist.
Jackie
Decided to send you a picture for this little contest of yours.... it's a stretched out 7up bottle from...... the 70's?!? possibly the early 80's. I'm not too sure, I think my parents got it before I was born. haha... anyways, I think it's pretty cool!!
Margaret
A Coconut Totem Pole Incense Holder.
It is made of 3 hollowed-out coconuts fused together to form a totem pole of faces. The carved out mouths and eyes allow for the upside down hanging burning incense to waft out. I lit a stick of incense for the photo to show the novelty and true weirdness of this item.
