Thread: stacking coupons question

When stacking coupons, do we simply have to make sure that the UPCs on the coupons are all different? I have about 5 different coupons for easy-ups and plan to go to London Drugs with these. Is this correct?
I'd love if we could start a section on which stores will stack and what city they are located in!This thread is currently associated with: London Drugs

I'll start by saying that the Superstore in Sherwood Park, AB and the Superstore at South Edmonton Common in Edmonton have accepted stacked coupons. I've only tried stacking 2 at each store so I don't know if they'll do more than 2.

In PEI I have done it at the Charlottetown Superstores. I don't ask them, I just hand them 2 different coupons for the same product. For example, the $1 sunsilk coupons found in stores and the $1.50 coupon sent in the mail. Used both for the shampoo. Just hand them over and look like you're in charge! LOL. Also, go to a young cashier, preferably male!!!

Superstore has a policy you can have a company coupon, plus an in-house (store) coupon. They do not stack multiple company coupons like London Drugs.. But this week I saved 5.50 off of cheese because of Superstore's policy combining an in-house coupon with a company coupon.
As London Drugs and coupon UPCs, we have learned from experience that if coupons look the same, have the same expiry, BUT different UPCs London Drugs will not accept them. We had a bunch of HUGGIES coupons, with same expiry but different UPCs and the clerk refused to accept. My hubby didn't want to press, since we were stacking close to 10 coupons (so we ended up only able to use 6 of 10). It has been suggested that if I contacted head office that the coupons should have been accepted, but we have not pressed the issue, since most stacks the coupons look VERY different and expiry dates are varied. It seems pretty consistent that appearance and expiry dates are more of an issue.. Appearance especially is big with London Drug stacks, if coupons look the same the more likely you are going to have some resistance.
Depends how much you want to fight for the savings I guess. So far this month we have saved a total of about $15 dollars stacking coupons. Last month we saved about $75.

I stacked at Zehrs today but it was a sticker-on-package + a regular coupon. I haven't tested it any further. I worked there as a teen and nobody every tried to stack. Zehrs is generally a snob store (everything costs way more, they'll carry your groceries to your car, etc) so not many hardcore coupon users seem to go there. It might be a good place to test the waters.

K, I'll call it! I'm a newbie and don't quite get what you mean by 'stacking'? Does that mean that you use more than one coupon for an item. Ie if I had a brandsaver coupon for pampers and a manufacturers coupon for pampers I could use them both on the same item? If so, oh that rocks! I have no idea if they do it here but I'm guessing that they won't care! Could someone explain this to me?
Thanks!

Thats what "stacking" is. I only know of the walmart on the west end of edmonton that accepts stacking coupons or at least they have for me, and safeway in spruce grove does the same.

The first time I did it and I asked the cashier first before giving my coupons and at Superstore she said absolutely. The other Superstore in South Edmonton, I just gave her both coupons - neither of them were in-store coupons.
