What is this about?

Post good useful deals in the Canadian Shopping Deals and Flyers section for a chance of winning a prize each month.

At the end of each month:

• The top member with the largest number of positively rated deals wins $10 in cash (sent via PayPal or cheque).
• The second best deals poster wins $5 in cash (sent via PayPal or cheque).

How do I see the current rankings?

How are ratings calculated?

Ratings are based on how many members found your deals useful not on how many deals you post. The ratings measure quality not quantity.


I came across a good deal posted by another member, how can I help them get rated for it?

Use the ratings feature that is available in every deals thread:

• If you like a deal give it a thumbs up (green arrow).
• If you don't know whether a deal is good or bad or the deal doesn't apply to you don't rate it.
• If the deal is cold give it a thumbs down (red arrow).

If I post good freebies or contests will I be ranked higher?

No, this competition is only based on good deals posted in the Canadian Shopping Deals and Flyers section.


Someone gave me a thumbs down, I'm offended

The thumbs up and down rate the deal NOT the person. It just means the deal isn't good or worthwhile and has nothing to do with you as a person.



Smart Canucks administrator can see who rated which deals. If you attempt to cheat the system you will not win a prize and it will get handed to the person below you on the list. Please play fair and may the best deal poster win.

I find that paypal is accepted at quite a number of online stores as well now, not just ebay!

Its a great idea though, and I like how its not who posts the most. I usually view most flyers online or the ones I get delivered.

I love having little deals online shopping, or from chains posted!
